RTX 4090 worked well

Rented an RTX 4090. Pod spun up fast. Performance was good for my inference tasks. No problems with the service. Will use again.

Got my H100, no fuss

Needed an H100 for a bit. Signed up, picked what I needed, and it just worked. No weird setup problems or anything. Price seemed fair for what I got. It was pretty easy to get started, which was nice because I'm not super techy with this stuff. Just clicked around and my thing was running. Good experience.

Smooth experience, good performance

I recently rented an RTX 4090 GPU pod for a deep learning project. The ordering process on the website was straightforward, I had the instance up and running within minutes. It took about 5 minutes for the pod to provision, which was reasonable. Performance was as expected for the price; I ran several training jobs without any issues or unexpected shutdowns. I did have a small question about setting up a network volume, and support responded to my ticket in about 3 hours, which was pretty good. The interface for managing pods is intuitive, I found all the necessary controls easily. Overall, a solid service for compute needs.

Super fast, love the L40S!

OMG, I just used a Runpod L40S GPU for my latest project and it was SO fast! I got through my processing in record time. The setup was quick, and everything just felt super responsive. Definitely going to be using them again for future projects. I've been telling my colleagues about how great it was!

Reliable for my AI work

This isn't my first time with Runpod. I've used them before for various training services, mostly with their A100 GPUs. This last time I tried out their L40S GPU for a new model, and it was just as reliable as my previous experiences. The platform's consistent, and I always get the performance I expect. It's why I keep coming back, frankly. Never had a major outage or anything that stalled my work. Good to see they maintain their service quality.

Heard about some percentage off for first month deal. Is that still active or was that a Black Friday thing?

S Sofia T. 2 weeks ago
They often have those 'percentage off first month' deals floating around. I'd check their homepage or maybe sign up for their newsletter, usually pops up there.

I think they always have some kind of new user bonus. I got one when I joined a few months back. Just look for a banner on the site.

My university email ends in .edu, can I get a student discount or something? Or is that just a myth for these cloud services?

D Danielle Ramirez 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they do student discounts! I got one. You usually have to verify your student status through some portal, but it's legit.

Definitely worth checking their FAQs or support, but most places like this offer student rates. It's a pretty common thing.

Can I stack coupon codes? Like if I find a percentage off and then also have a free credit code, can I use both?

S Sam J. 2 weeks ago
Nah, usually these things are one coupon per order. Most places don't let you stack 'em. Pretty standard policy for online stuff.

I've never been able to combine discounts anywhere, especially for cloud services. It's usually one or the other.

Does anyone know if Runpod does free trials? Or at least a free tier for just messing around with a small project?

E Eric S. 2 weeks ago
They used to have some free credits for new users, not sure if that's still a thing, but I know for sure they have a free tier for small projects. It's not a lot of compute, but good enough to get started.

Yeah, I signed up a while ago and got some free credits to start. It wasn't a ton but enough to test out if their setup worked for me.

Trying to decide between Runpod and Vast.ai for some inference work. Anyone used both and have thoughts on performance or ease of use?

J Jessica H. 4 weeks ago
Runpod is definitely more managed and polished, especially if you're doing anything more serious than just a quick burst. Vast can be cheaper sometimes, but I've found Runpod's orchestration and reliability much better.

I tried Vast for a bit but kept running into weird issues with setting up environments. Switched to Runpod and it's been way smoother. Their serverless stuff is pretty sweet for inference too, just upload your model and go.
